The Global Health Collaborative has successfully concluded its inaugural symposium, "IndusInsight2025," marking a pivotal moment in the medical partnership between North America and South Asia.
Held across two prestigious venues in Karachi, the event brought together over 300 distinguished clinicians, researchers, and policymakers. The primary objective was clear: to lay the groundwork for a Collaborative Center of Excellence that bridges the gap between the specialized expertise available in Chicago and the clinical needs of Pakistan.
Event Overview
The IndusInsight2025 Symposium was a collaboration between Indus Hospital Network and Insight Hospital & Medical Center, USA/Chicago Muslim Medical Alliance (CMMA), organized by Global Health Collaborative (GHC) and Upbuild Foundation. The event focused on strengthening Pakistan's clinical, research, and training ecosystem through sustainable partnerships.
Opening
The program opened with a warm welcome by Dr. Syed Noman Haider, Hematology/Oncology & Cellular Therapy Specialist, who also serves as the primary organizer of the symposium through GHC and Upbuild Foundation. He shared the vision behind the Indus-Insight collaboration and highlighted the need for sustainable partnerships that strengthen Pakistan's clinical, research, and training ecosystem.
Morning Scientific Session at Salim Habib University
The IndusInsight2025 Symposium began at Salim Habib University (SHU) with an enthusiastic gathering of more than 140 doctors, researchers, and medical students. The state-of-the-art SHU auditorium provided an excellent environment for learning, dialogue, and inspiration.
The morning session featured a rich lineup of distinguished speakers from Pakistan, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Each presentation added a unique perspective to the shared vision for a Center of Excellence in Neuroscience, Oncology, Genetics, and Critical Care.

Dr. Jawad Shah
Neurosurgeon & Innovator
Dr. Shah delivered what became the most captivating, highly engaged, and widely praised talk of the day. His visionary presentation on innovation, neurosurgical advancements, and the moral obligation of diaspora experts to uplift health systems in Pakistan resonated powerfully with the audience. His message set a deeply motivational tone for the future of the collaboration.
Dr. Abdul Bari Khan

Dr. Bari spoke passionately about the Indus vision, the power of service-based leadership, and the critical need for building scalable institutions that serve people regardless of ability to pay. His talk deeply moved the audience and strengthened commitment toward collaborative action.
Dr. Muhammad Tajammul Husain

Evening Leadership Session at Governor House Karachi
The second half of the event took place at the prestigious Governor House Karachi, bringing together senior leadership from top Karachi institutions, including Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), Liaquat National Hospital, Indus Hospital & Health Network, representatives from Government and some of Pakistan's leading Pharma organizations.
High-Level Dialogue on Collaborative Excellence
The session created a dynamic environment for senior leaders to share their perspectives on:
