Global Health Collaborative is a platform that brings together clinicians, researchers, and health systems from around the world to improve patient care through shared expertise, training, and research. Our initial focus is on collaboration between institutions in North America and South Asia, starting with symposia in Lahore and Karachi.

Neurosurgery
Insight Hospital and Medical Center
Dr. Jawad Shah studied at McGill University in Montreal and the University of Manitoba prior to completing medical school at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada, where he was also raised.
He began Ph.D. work in psychoneuroimmunology prior to embarking on specialty training in neurosurgery. He completed subspecialty fellowship training in skull base neurosurgery at the University of Arkansas. His areas of specialty include brain stem surgery, vascular neurosurgery, brain tumors, complex spine, and neuromodulation. He currently practices at McLaren, Hurley, and Genesys Hospitals.

Founder & President, Indus Hospital & Health Network
Founder of Indus Hospital and Health Network (IHHN): Established IHHN in 2007 to provide free, quality healthcare to the underprivileged population in Pakistan.
CEO and President of IHHN: Served as the CEO of IHHN from 2007 to 2022 and has since taken on the role of President.
He is a pioneering cardiac surgeon in Pakistan, known for performing complex procedures like heart transplantation and treating congenital heart defects.
National Recognition: Awarded the "National Hero" title at the 5th Pakistan Health Care Summit 2025 for his lifelong dedication to healthcare. Previously received the Hilal-e-Imtiaz and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for his services to Pakistan.

Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine
Dr. Teepu Siddique is a Pakistani American neurologist best known for his discoveries concerning the genetic and molecular abnormalities underlying the neurodegenerative disorder amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS; or Lou Gehrig disease).
Siddique studied botany at the University of the Punjab's Islamia College in Lahore, Pakistan, before enrolling at Dow Medical College in Karachi and earning a medical degree (1973). He then moved to the United States, where he completed an internship (1976) at Perth Amboy General Hospital in New Jersey and a residency (1979) in neurology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
Fellowships in 1980 and 1981 gave Siddique the opportunity to study at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City and at the National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Stroke in Bethesda, Maryland. He later served as a physician and researcher at the University of Southern California and then at Duke University. In 1991 he joined the faculty of Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago as a professor in the departments of neurology and cell and molecular biology; he later was appointed director of the university's division of neuromuscular medicine.

He works in North Aurora, IL and specializes in Internal Medicine and Hematology/Oncology. Dr. Hussain is affiliated with Presence Mercy Medical Center and Rush Oak Park Hospital.

Dr. Syed Noman Haider is a Medical Oncologist and Stem Cell Transplant Physician at Advocate Aurora Healthcare System.
He earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at Dow University of Health Sciences in Karachi, Pakistan. Completed Residency in Internal Medicine at Beaumont Hospital-Dearborn (formerly Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center) in Dearborn, Michigan.
Received special training in hemophilia and coagulation disorders at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, and was a Fellow in Hematology/Oncology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center from 2010 to 2013. He then completed a one-year Fellowship in Stem Cell Transplantation at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
In 2014, he joined the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center as an Assistant Professor and then was at CTCA Chicago for 5 years before joining AAHS in November 2020.
His areas of expertise include medical oncology care, benign and malignant hematology and stem cell transplantation.
